Nomination Package Requirements for OVPR Faculty Awards

Individuals nominating a faculty member for the OVPR Faculty Awards should complete the nomination form via InfoReady by Sunday, December 1, 2024 and work with their department and/or school leadership to complete the full nomination package by Friday, January 10, 2025.

Please do not submit more than the maximum number of materials as outlined in the nomination package requirements below. A nomination will not be considered if guidelines are not followed. Please see Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

Required Components of the Nomination Package

A complete nomination package requires the following:

  1. A curriculum vitae (CV) of the nominee
  2. Three letters of support as outlined immediately below (1-2 pages each):
 

 

If the nominator is a department chair, the following three letters of support are required…
  1. Department chair (as nominator)
  2. GW colleague
  3. GW colleague
If the nominator is a colleague, the following three letters of support are required…
  1. Colleague (as nominator)
  2. Department chair OR departmental colleague with chair's co-signature
    (If the nominee is a department chair, this letter should be written by the Vice or Associate Dean of the nominee's school OR GW colleague with Vice or Associate Dean's co-signature.)
  3. GW colleague 
If the nominator is a student or trainee (Mentorship Award ONLY), the following three letters of support are required…
  1. Student or trainee (as nominator)
  2. Department chair OR faculty/departmental colleague with chair’s co-signature
  3. GW student or trainee who was also mentored by the nominee

Optional Components of the Nomination Package

The following components may also be submitted as part of the nomination package, but they are not required:

  1. An optional external letter of support (one maximum) (1-2 pages)
  2. Optional publications or other appropriate work samples (three maximum)

A Note for Mentorship Award Nominators

Letters in support of Mentorship Award nominations should include evidence of successful mentorship such as impact of mentee’s achievements, students mentored for GW Research Showcase, number of Ph.D. dissertations advised, etc.
