Transcript Recognition for Undergraduate Research Experiences
The university has established a mechanism for undergraduates to highlight research experiences on their official GW transcript.
This recognition highlights the importance of experiential learning and gives future degree programs and employers a more complete picture of a student’s background and interests.
Students may request to have significant mentored research experiences appear on their transcript.
Contact fellcentgwu [dot] edu (fellcent[at]gwu[dot]edu) for more information about this opportunity.
Tips for finding research opportunities
Undergraduate research experiences offer the chance to learn first-hand, in collaboration with professors, how new knowledge is generated. There are many ways to get involved in research at GW:
- Review the tips provided by the Center for Undergraduate Fellowships and Research (CUFR) and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research.
- Reach out to faculty directly to learn more about their work and ask if they have opportunities to get involved.
- Request to join the CUFR Blackboard page to access tips for contacting faculty.
- Explore the GW Student Employment talent management portal and filter positions by “Time Spent on Research".
- Connect with student organizations listed in GW Engage to network with peers that have similar interests.
