Research Support Teams

The George Washington University (GW) utilizes a shared services model for local sponsored research administration. Faculty initiate sponsored research activities through their assigned Research Support Team (RST) and within myResearch.

RSTs also work with the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP), GW's authorized organization representative (AOR), to ensure success and compliance throughout all phases of a sponsored project.

This approach strengthens school-level research support, facilitates collaboration across teams and central units, and better meets the needs of our growing and evolving research portfolio.

Each RST assists two or more schools and their affiliated research centers and institutes. Additional details on each RST, including portfolio assignments, can be found on the websites linked below.

Research Operations Committee

A Research Operations Committee that includes leadership from RSTs and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) has been established to focus on implementation and ongoing evaluation of the RSTs as well as necessary collaboration between the RSTs and central administrative offices.
