Reminder: Forward Any Communications from Federal Agencies to Office of Sponsored Projects

March 12, 2025

Dear Colleagues,

University leadership continues to monitor the impacts of federal actions on the GW academic enterprise. We are collaborating with peer institutions and professional organizations to provide up-to-date guidance to impacted members of our community.

We are aware that agencies may have sent surveys or other requests for data to federally-funded investigators, particularly those with projects that include a foreign assistance component. In most cases, the request was sent directly to principal investigators with a short deadline.

Please be reminded that investigators should promptly forward all communications from the federal government—including data requests, surveys, stop-work orders or other notices—to the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) at [email protected].

OSP will review forwarded communications and provide specific guidance for investigators. Only the assistant vice provost for sponsored projects, our Authorized Organization Representative (AOR), is authorized to respond to sponsor requests on behalf of the university.

We encourage investigators to continue monitoring the university’s webpage sharing Information Regarding Executive Orders and Federal Agency Guidance as well as the detailed guidance for researchers that can be found on the Federal Transition Updates 2025 webpage.

We will continue to share updates as new information becomes available. Please reach out with questions or share feedback by emailing [email protected].
